Your article intrigued me and I'm going to check out your book. I often get stuck in the same routine and I know whenever I do or explore something "new" it shakes me out of that dull routine and makes me feel more alive. I've been practicing cold open water swimming since the start of 2021 and that experience will jar me out of my stress, anxiety or depression or simply make me feel amazing for the rest of the day.
