Yes! This totally resonates with me. I need to keep doing different experiments to figure out what works and what doesn't. I realize when some experiments work, they stop working after a long trial, and then I need to conduct a new experiment.
I've done a lot of self-coaching when I was experimenting with open-water swimming, and I loved it! However, I realized I needed to take swim lessons after I came second-last in my first-ever triathlon race (for the swim portion).
In this case, the swim coach brought great value because he could observe my swim technique, whereas I couldn't watch myself swim to figure out what I could improve.
Thanks for an informative article and great read!
