This is a great piece about struggle, empathy, building confidence, competing and yes, understanding that also-rans and winners rely on each other! I wasn't a typical sporty kid and I hated team sports (also picked as one of the last ones!), but there were a few things I was good at (including cartwheels haha!).
Later on, as an adult, I also found passion for exercise after I embarked on a personal fitness journey at age 49--which gave me a ton of confidence. I agree, confidence is a game-changer!
