I know, I think the new algorithm (for Aug & Sept) paid out way more than what they anticipated, and now they're trying to figure out how to pay out less. Just a wild guess. But who knows!

I agree, it's a disappointment. As a voluntary editor and owner of my own pub on Medium, it would've been great to see an ongoing increase in monthly earnings, similar to Aug & Sept.

It would at least feel like editors are getting compensated more for the work they do behind the scenes to run a pub, on top of attracting new readers and writers to the platform through our publications.
