I snapped this photo during the summer wildfire season — an eerie shadow and darkness filled the smoky sky creating this jagged cloud outline. I could see the sun without blinding my eyes.
The final summer round
This article welcomes the fourth and final round of participating writers who wrote stories in August. This extinguishes the crazy wildfire set off by the launching of the 6-Word Photo Story Summer Challenge in July. The flames calmed down in August, but the stories will flicker in the forests of this platform.
Thank you to all participating writers in July and August — there were at least 75 different writers. Some wrote more than one — I’ve lost count of the stories, but I read every single one! Your photos continued to make me smile, laugh, wonder, or inspire me, readers, and writers in some way.
